Conceptualizations of Health and Well-being
Well-being is a multifaceted concept shaped by cultural, social, and environmental factors, yet standardized health models often overlook diverse perspectives.
Conceptualizations of well-being vary across cultures, ages, and regions, yet holistic perspectives are often overlooked in public health. The ACRES Lab studies diverse understandings of embodied well-being among immigrant and refugee communities, emphasizing physical, mental, and cultural dimensions. Through cross-cultural analyses and community engagement, we explore how well-being is shaped by social determinants like food security, housing, and integration.
